Player Information

General Overview:

The Maine the "soccer year" runs from Fall through the Spring.

Fall is the primary soccer season and runs late August through mid-November with playoffs Veteran's Day weekend.  During the Fall season teams practice twice a week with games on Saturday.

Spring is a great opportunity for players to continue to play soccer through the year. The spring season runs from mid April through early June. During the Spring season teams practice once a week with games on Saturday. We recognize there are lots of options for kids to play different sports in the spring season. We encourage families to communicate openly with coaches on player availability for practice and games.

Competition levels increase naturally with age groups with the general goal of the club and the league being to provide opportunities to play soccer, develop as people and players and have fun!

Team Formation:

Teams will be based on birth year groupings, team numbers with a target minimum 3 subs, and available coaches.  In the event teams need to be mixed to meet these requirements teams will be balanced as evenly as possible.  We rely on coaching recommendations whenever possible for best team selection.  In the event of conflicting recommendations the board will place players and coaches with the best interests of the club in mind.  There is a recognition that it can be difficult to play on a different team than in previous seasons. It is important to recognize that parents play a critical role in supporting changes made to allow all teams to have an opportunity at a fun and successful season.

Club Environment:

Part of the club's purpose is: To encourage an environment that is supportive, respectful and positive for peer and family participation. This includes interactions with opposing teams, coaches and referees.

Social Media:

The club is working to better utilize social media to support and share the club soccer experience of all involved. Through registering for the season there is a recognition that player and team photos maybe shared via social media in alignment with the Club Environment.

Uniform Policy:

Each player will be assigned a uniform for the season at no cost to families.  These uniforms will be returned to KSC at the end of the season.  Since they will be returned and reused in following seasons, we will not be printing names on the back of jerseys.  Additionally, we will not be taking requests for player numbers. Please be sure to provide sizing information for the uniform.
